WAHPETON — Andrew "Andy" Thomas Bachler, 23, Wahpeton, died April 13, 2011, at his apartment. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. CDT Monday, April 18, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, New Salem, with Father Amalraj Roche and Father Chad Gion as Con-Celebrants. Burial will be held at the Almont Cemetery following a luncheon after the service.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. CDT Sunday with vigil service starting at 5 p.m. CDT at St. Pius V Catholic Church and will continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT on Monday prior to the service at the church.

Andy was born Feb. 10, 1988, in Bismarck to Kathy (Renner) and Dean Bachler. He was raised on the family farm southwest of Almont and attended grade school at Almont Public School. He attended high school in New Salem where he musically excelled playing the trumpet. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and attending academic sporting events from the bleachers, having never missed playing in the pep band. Andy graduated from New Salem High School in 2006. After high school he continued his education at NDSCS, Wahpeton, graduating in 2009 with an Associate's degree in computer science.

Andy started his career with Northern Improvement during his off time in the summers of college. After his graduation at NDSCS, Andy went on to pursue his life-long dream of IT Tech with the Vertin Company, aka Digital Guru.

In his leisure time, Andy enjoyed coming home to Almont to hunt with his friends and family. He was also on a bowling league in Wahpeton, and loved to hang out at Terrace Lanes with all of his buddies. You could always expect any evening to be interesting, considering Andy had many talents and loved to make people feel welcome and appreciated. Andy was introduced to Karaoke in the winter of 2009 in Dickinson, and it stuck. Andy (DJ Drew) was a weekly hit at Grumpy's in Breckenridge, Minn. Aside from being a professional DJ, he also loved to do it on the side. Any gathering that he attended, you could expect some "bumpin' bass" coming from the trunk of his car, which he was so greatly proud of. He has countless friends and family members that supported him in every aspect of his life. He will be greatly missed as a son, brother, cousin, uncle, grandson, friend and mentor.

Andy is survived by his parents, Dean and Kathy Bachler, Almont; brothers, Joe (Lisa) Bachler, New Salem, Mark (Jen) Bachler, Bismarck, and Nick (Amy) Bachler, New Salem; sister, Becca (Dustin) Holtan, Turtle Lake; grandparents, Edd and Viola Bachler, Almont; nieces and nephews, Kasandra, Elizabeth, Austin, Aidan, Colbi and Kinli; and numerous Aunts and Uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Goldie Renner.
