Gloria J. Akers, 83, died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Smithville-Western Care Center.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with the Rev. John Rowe officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted.
There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are being handled by Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton.

She was born Feb. 15, 1922, in East Greenville, to Charles and Estella (Bushman) Bach, and married Robert Akers on Nov. 22, 1945. He died Nov. 28, 2000.
She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943-45.
She had been a resident of Smithville for 24 years, formerly of Dalton and retired from the Orrville Public Library.
She attended Smithville United Methodist Church and was a member of Dalton Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered for many organizations in the Wooster community, such as the Wooster Community Hospital Sewing Circle, American Red Cross Bloodmobile and People To People.
She is survived by sons, Dennis Akers of Burbank and Norman (Sharon) Akers of North Lawrence; three grandchildren and a brother, Veryl Bach of Dalton.
In addition to her husband, a brother, Charles Bach, two half-brothers and six half-sisters died previously.
