Charlie "Magoo" C. Baca

Charlie C. "Magoo" Baca, age 80, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 at his home, surrounded by family.

Charlie was born to Leopolo and Irene (Chavez) Baca on June 22, 1933 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. He served in the Army for many years and was very involved with several organizations. He was part of the Legion of Mary, the American Legion Post 25, and also the Cursillos. Charlie was a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Charlie is survived by his mother Irene Baca of Clovis; one brother, Emereciano and wife Esperanza Baca of Clovis; nine children, Donna and husband Randy Gomez, Alan and wife Renee Baca, Valerie and husband Anthony Pena, Casey and wife Heidi Baca, Larry Baca all of Clovis, Elaine and husband Art Ortiz of Dodge City, Kansas, Grace Duran of Clovis, Joy and husband Mike Strain of Clovis, and Diana and husband Jaime Collazo Salt Lake City, Utah; twenty eight grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lucy Baca, his father Leopolo Baca, sister Gloria Baca, grandson Michael Anthony Peña, and great granddaughter Aariyah Faith Jackson.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Rosary service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Randy Gomez II, Alan Baca Jr., Jason Baca, Brandon Baca, Carlos Peña, Antonio Peña, Jacob Peña, Chance Wright Baca, Thomas Baca, Jared Baca, Malaki Garcia, and Johnny Rubio. Honorary Pallbearers are all of his grand daughters and great grandkids.
