PORTALES, N.M. - Diana Rodriguez, 51, died Friday, May 31, 2002.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Helen Catholic Church. Mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Tobin Hitt as celebrant. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary.

Mrs. Rodriguez was born Nov. 1, 1950, in Portales to Emma and A.L. Baca. She was a lifelong resident of Portales. She was a medical nurse for many years.

She grew up in Portales and graduated from Portales High School in 1968. In 1970, she graduated from nursing school in Roswell and worked at Roosevelt General Hospital until its closing.

After the hospital closed she commuted to Amarillo where she worked at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital for about a year and a half. She had not been able to work for some time due to her failing health.

She was married to Arthur Rodriguez in Portales on March 10, 1979. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and had also been active in the Eagles Lodge in Clovis. Honorary pallbearers include friends and family.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Joel Baca; and her grandparents, Jose and Petrita Baca and Trinidad and Cornelia Salguero.
