Estefana Baca age 88, of Portales, NM died Monday, October 13, 2014, at her home in Portales. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at St. Helen Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at St. Helen Catholic Church.
Estefana was born March 6, 1926, to Carlos and Estafana (Baca) Cordova in Clovis, NM. She married Juan B. Baca May 3, 1943, in Enico, MN. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and loved to go to Bingo. Estefana enjoyed to embroider and loved to show others how. She loved gardening and canning fruits and vegetables.
Survivors include her three daughters: Conselo Garcia (Jose Lino) of Portales, NM, Christina Baca of Rogers, AR, and Rebecca (Terry) Pullen of Bentenville, AR; six sons, Juan C. Baca (Sylvia Velasquez), Paul R. (Alberta) Baca of Albuquerque, NM, Joe D. (Joyce) Baca of Clovis, NM, Steven (Diane) Baca of Rogers, NM, Fabin Baca of Arkansas, and Nick Baca of Portales, NM; three brothers: Fortonato (Nina) Cordova, John (Beatrice) Cordova, and Jose (Angie) Cordova; 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Juan Baca; parents: Carlos and Estafana Cordova; son: Jimmy Joe Baca; a sister and three brothers.
