Rosary and Funeral Mass for Lola C. Baca 80, of Grants, will be held on Jan. 5, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant.

She was born on March 15, 1929, on a ranch near El Morro and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and friends on Dec. 29, 2009, in Grants. She was the last surviving child of Juan and Francisquita Chavez.

She will be sorely missed by all who ever had the privilege to know her. She will always be remembered for her warm heart and great cooking.

She is survived by her son: Juan D. Baca and wife Viola of Ridgecrest, Calif.; daughters: Barbara Cregger and husband Kelly, Jr., of Grants and Judy Baca and husband Tom Venardos of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandsons: Joseph Baca of Grants, Chris Cregger and wife Soha of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Cory Cregger and wife Kris of Bedford, Texas; great-grandchildren: Joey Baca, Jacob Baca, Camdyn Cregger and Sophia Cregger and great-great-grandson: Joey Baca, III; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Baca, Jr.; parents: Juan Chavez and Francesquita Chavez; sons: Richard Baca and Leory Baca; six brothers and five sisters.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
