Interment will be in St. John Berchmans Cemetery in Cankton. The Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Babineaux was a native and lifelong resident of Cankton.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Vivian St. Romain Babineaux of Cankton; two sons, Tommy Babineaux of Opelousas and Phillip Royer and his wife, Heidi, of Cankton; two daughters, Glenda Dugas of Cankton of Cankton and Gloria Faul and her husband, Mark, of Arnaudville; one sister, Shirley Dugas of Cankton; seventy grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse Babineaux and the former Doris Royer; one son, Tony Babineaux; one daughter, Jackie Lavergne; one brother, Johnny Babineaux; and one sister, Audrey Thibodeaux.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday and will remain open all night until service time on Thursday.
