Roy F. Bailey, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Bailey, of near Boody, died of pneumonia following Spanish influenza at Camp Grant at 8:30 Sunday night. He was nearly 25 years old.
He was born Nov. 18, 1893 near Boody and had lived all his life in that neighborhood. He left with the Macon county draft quota Sept. 3. His parents were with him during his illness. He also leaves two sisters and two brothers, Miss Ethel and Miss Vada Bailey and Harold and Cyril Bailey.
The body will be brought to Decatur to await arrangements for the funeral which will probably be held in the Zion Methodist church near Boody.
Because of the difficulty at Rockford of obtaining coffins and the amount of work the undertakers have to do, Mr. Bailey, the father, says it is uncertain when the body will arrive.
