Pat was a creative and driving force. She enjoyed the craft of ornamental eggs. With her sisterinlaw, Betty Vredevelt, they sold Christmas ornaments and decorations out of her beautiful East Grand Rapids home in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This began the Christmas bazaar movement that continues to this day. Pat owned the Owl's Nest craft store in Breton Village Mall in the early to mid 1970s. There she sold materials and taught lessons on how to decorate ostrich and other exotic eggs.
Unfortunately her intensity of strengths were beset by some ill health. She eventually contracted leukemia and died an early death. She loved her home in Ada and its beautiful yard with pond. Her cremated remains were placed in this pond upon her wishes. Forest Glenn Drive, SE Ada. The cemetery marker is simply a memorial.
