Arline Aletha (Avery) Maynard, 87 years of age, of Loma Linda, California, formerly of Concordia, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. She was born to Merrill and Mildred (Anderson) Avery on December 29, 1926, at rural Concordia. Arline was a graduate of Concordia High School.
She married the Rev. Nick Maynard and they lived in Sabetha for over 25 years while Nick ministered at the United Brethren Church.
Arline is survived by three daughters, Kathy Burt and husband Daryl of LaPorte, Colorado, Gail Lortscher and husband Ronald of Manhattan, Jill Ellington and husband Bruce of Loma Linda, California; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Nick Maynard of Sabetha; sister, Helen Louise Avery; and her son, Daniel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 29, 2014 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held the morning of the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
