A funeral for Gerald C. "Jerry" Auvil of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the McMinnville First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Ken Spicer officiating.
Private entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, McMinnville.
The chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, will be open for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Mr. Auvil died Feb. 3, 2001, in his home. He was 87.
He was born March 19, 1913, in Duvall, Wash., the son of Wayne K. and Olive Poling Auvil.
He and Aloha King were married Oct. 5, 1935, in Everett, Wash.
After marrying, he lived in Everett. He lived in Lummi Island, Wash., from 1946 to 1959. He then moved to Tigard, where he and his wife operated a group home for teen-age girls. From 1972 to 1982, he lived in Gresham and was manager of the Country Club Town House Apartments. He then moved to Seattle and worked as manager of apartments in North Seattle.
Mr. Auvil had lived in McMinnville since 1995. He belonged to the McMinnville First Church of the Nazarene. He loved hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert Auvil of McMinnville, Wayne Auvil of Newberg and William Auvil of Simi Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to hospice, in care of Macy & Son, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128.
