Buddy came to us as a very young stray after he and his siblings were dumped out in a trailer park. Our daughter tried to round them up but Buddy was the only one that came to her, the rest of them ran off. She brought him to our farm and after making sure that he had made this his home we had him fixed.
Buddy wasn't just a family pet he was a working dog and he loved it, he stood guard at night and kept the varmints at bay. Although he watched over the sheep he did have a mischievous side and would run the horse every now and then. Buddy never met a stranger, he never got sick, he never complained or whimpered. He was the perfect farm dog.
Although at 12 years old he was beginning to slow down we'll never know how old he would have lived to be. Buddy died five days after being bitten by a venomous snake he fought hard but lost that battle. He is buried in the yard where he liked to sun in the morning. There are no real words to express our love for this devoted dog.
