Married Marlene Brown in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1954. An avid NASCAR fan. Enjoyed his four-wheelers with family and friends. For 21 years served in the U.S. Air Force in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Worked as independent flooring contractor in Salt Lake City for 20 years.
Survived by wife Marlene of 52 years; five children: sons Robert (Robyn), William (Kari), daughters, Patricia (Monte) Tucker, Linda, Marilyn (Chad) Bodell; grandchildren, Misty, Cindy, Tanya, Earl, Jeffrey, Mike, Brittany, Brooke, Chase, Brock; 10 great grandchildren; brothers Gene (Belle), Hugh (Monica); sisters, Joan (Bill) Jordan, Anne (Steve) Crawford, Rebecca Herndon, and stepmother Athel Austin. Predeceased by father Alfred P. Austin, mother Bessie Boatright and his stepfather Walter Boatright.
