Born in Roanoke, VA. Sandra "Sandy" Austin to parents Melvin and Helen Austin. Has a younger brother, Allen Austin, still alive, that she adored. Both of them grew up on Mason Mill Road. She married S. Wayne Brown. Had two children, David and Susan.
Later in life she worked in the healthcare field. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling in her RV (40 foot fifth wheel, huge with slide outs) and living in it full time for a few years as she traveled to different states to see the sites. In 1994 she sold the RV, moved to Texas to be with her adult children. People really loved her and enjoyed her company, and she had many friends that loved her and miss her. If I could describe her personality it would include all of these words - compassionate, loving, friendly, giving, witty, smart, intelligent, and fun.
