Obituary in Grant Co. Witness, April 17, 1873
DIED---In the Town of Harrison, April 9, 1873 Abraham D. Augustine aged 33 years 9 mo. and 10 days. Of a geneal, kind disposition sympothetic in all the noble impulses of his nature. Kind and devotedly attached to his aged parents, who looked to him as their stay and support in their old age. But alas; he was led astray by evil influence and raging thirst of strong drink and died a victum of the Rumseller's traffic. Thus, another has been added to the long list who died by others putting the bottle to their lips. The heartstriken parents who have thus been deprived of an only son and indignant outraged public, whose rights have thus been trampled upon, and the laws of our country that have been defied, all demand that the gulity in this matter be speedily brought to justice.
