Audrey was born to Anthony Henry and Rose Sylvia (Kopff) Feldhaus at home due to a snowstorm.

She met her husband, Robert Hing-Kong Au in St Louis. Her father would not allow them to marry but her mother gave her blessing and sent her oldest brother, Darvin L Feldhaus, with the couple so that he could witness the marriage.

After being denied a marriage license in both California and Oregon because Robert was Chinese and Audrey was Caucasian, they were married by a judge in Vancouver, Washington in the night on September 9, 1946.

The happy couple took a boat to his family home in Honolulu, Hawaii where they lived in a multi-generational Chinese home. They worked in his mother's department store, Li Fong's in Old Honolulu.

Audrey bore 5 children: Robert DK Au, Nicholas Au, Phyliss Au, Barbara Au Taniguchi (Arthur), and Beverly Au.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and 3 brothers (Darvin, Donald, and Robert).

She is survived by her 2 sisters (RoseMary DeSantis and Janet (Ray) McCahill), her children, and 2 granddaughters: Kaila Au and Robyn Taniguchi. A third grandchild is due in November.

She was a Catholic and active in her church. She worked in her family's department store. She loved to visit museums and travel all over the world.
