Eleanor (Warren) Atwood wife of Robert E. Atwood passed away at the age of 101 years after a brief illness on 5/25/2016. Born 4/15/1915 and a resident of Brockton for over 80 years and had a summer home in Lakeville.
Eleanor is survived by her son Carleton Atwood and his wife Maureen, daughter Cynthia "Chickie" Ness and her husband Peter. Grandaughters Suzanne Fletcher, Barbie McDonnell and husband Raymond. Shelley Witten Lincoln and great granddaughters Bridget McDonnell and Addison Lincoln.
She attended Sharon and Foxboro schools and graduated from Foxboro High School class of 1934.
Eleanor loved sports and in her younger years played on many teams; including basketball, bowling, ice skating, skiing, and was a devoted fan of Red Sox's and Patriots. Lover of board games & cards; she enjoyed special times sitting on the lawn with wonderful family, friends & neighbors. She was always there to talk, laugh or tell a great story; she had a great sense of humor. She was mom to many and Grammy to all.
A Funeral Home Service will be held in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home 98 Bedford Street Bridgewater wit burial in Central Cemetery Bridgewater MA.
