Funeral services for Jackson B. Atkinson, Sr., 62, of 5906 Velasco, projects engineer for the Austin Company for 17 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Weiland-Merritt Funeral Chapel, 2909 Live Oak. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Mausoleum.
Dr. Thompson L. Shannon and Dr. Kenneth L. Mauldin will officiate.
Atkinson died Saturday in a Dallas hospital after a short illness. He had been a resident of the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the last 35 years.
Atkinson was a graduate of old Bryan High School and the University of Texas. He was a member of Sigma Chi and Tau Beta Phi fraternities, the American Institute of Architects, the Dallas Athletic Club, the Tulsa Club and Community Congregational Church.
Atkinson was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Jackson B. Atkinson Jr, of Crane, Crane County, and two grandchildren
