Mrs. Allen was born in Grant County on June 25, 1921 to the late Frank and Hazel (Nelson) Atkinson.
Mrs. Allen worked and retired from General Motors. She was a member of First Christian Church, Gas City. In her free time she enjoyed bowling, loved to shop with her sisters, was very devoted to her grandsons and loved her precious Heidi.
Mrs. Allen is survived by a daughter, Deborah L. (Terry D.) Tubbs, Noblesville; 2 grandsons, Travis (Rhamey) Tubbs and Ryan Tubbs; and 4 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Alexus, Wade and Brea.
She is also preceded in death by a brother, Herb Atkinson; 3 sisters, Mary Blake, Mrs. Allen's twin sister, Martha Mann and Mabel Bunch.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Gas City Chapel, 200 North 7th Street, Gas City, Indiana, with Pastor Mark Hummel officiating. Interment will take place in Jefferson Cemetery, Upland, Indiana.
