Mr. Kenneth Arnold Atkinson, 51, of 711 Devon Street, formerly of 1615-A Fairfax Road, died Saturday, September 3, 1994, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Mr. Atkinson was a native of Newark, New Jersey, a member of the American Legion Post 53, was of the Baptist faith, and was a former Shop Supervisor for D.H. Griffin Wrecking Company. He was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran, serving one tour in Germany and two tours in Vietnam, for fourteen years.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, The Rev. Roy Coon and Pearl Malpass Coon of the home; daughter Tammy; son Kenneth; sisters, Rona Faye Apple and Dona Kaye Norman; and two grandchildren.
