A daughter of the late Blaine Sumner Atkins and Catherine Magdeline Atkins, Ada was born on a farm in Averill Park and was raised by her grandfather, Frederick Alexander Atkins.
She moved to Wynantskill where she met her “best friend from third grade” Peggy.
In 1965, she became a resident of Lansingburgh and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Ada worked at Prudential Insurance Company for 29 years and Community Resource FCU for 9 years and Waldenbooks for 1 year.
She loved to travel and visited many places in including Las Vegas, Florida, Pennsylvania Amish Country, Maine and many other locations too lengthy to list.
Ada was an avid reader of just about anything but favored mysteries and crime stories. She also enjoyed shooting pool, crafts and baking cookies.
Besides her parents, Ada was predeceased by her brother Donald McKinley.
