Roy Francis Asmundsen Sept. 23, 1925 ~ June 2, 2011 Resident of Danville Roy passed away peacefully June 2, with his wife by his side. Born in Iron Mountain, MI and raised in Rhinelander, WI. He and his first wife Mary moved to Danville in 1951, where he began his career with the Danville Fire Department as a volunteer. He retired in 1980 as Chief of the San Ramon Valley Fire District. Roy enjoyed golf and hunting. He was a member of the Concord Elks Club and the California Oliver Cletrac Club. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Lorna; stepson Jeff Stratton; granddaughters, Analia and Julia; siblings, Dorothy and Doug, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary and sisters, Arlene and Joyce. A Memorial Liturgy will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at St. Isidore Church, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA 94526.
