Laura S. Ashley, age 91 of rural Sibley, a lifelong resident of the Sibley area, died at 7:05 a.m. Friday, December 4, 1987 at Gibson Manor in Gibson City, where she had lived the last month.
Her funeral was held at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, the Rev. David Enge officiating.
Mrs. Ashley was born March 4, 1896 in Illinois a daughter of Fred and Dorothea Berck Stein. She married Amos W. Ashley in 1914 in Sibley. He died April 30, 1950.
Survivors include one son, Curtis, Sibley; two brothers, Walter Stein, Sibley, and Edward Stein, Park Ridge; two sisters, Esther Lohmeyer, Sibley, and Mildred Robb, Joliet; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
One son, one daughter and four brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ashley was a member of the Sibley United Methodist Church to which memorials may be given.
