Wesley Beecher Ashley, 78, of Gibson City died at 1:15 p.m. Friday (Aug. 5, 2016) at BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Mr. Ashley was born on April 16, 1938 in Sibley, a son of Clyde and Rose (Beecher) Ashley. He married Caryn A. Starkey on Dec. 29, 1972. She died on Sept. 9, 2011.
Surviving are three children, Elaine (Mark) Ploense, Diane (Robert) Edgington and Carrie Ashley; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Ashley and one sister, Sherilyn (Donald) Bathgate.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Eric.
Wesley was a mechanic for many years, then joined his family on the farm and enjoyed farming for many years until his retirement.
He also enjoyed trap shooting at Sibley Sportsman's Club and was a member of the NRA.
