Heart Church with Rev. Msgr.
Floyd J. Brown officiating. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery in
Massena.
Calling hours will be Thursday
afternoon and evening at Phillips
Memorial Home in Massena.
Mr. Ashley died Tuesday (Oct.
21, 1986) at Massena Memorial
Hospital where he had been a patient
since Oct. 3.
Surviving are his wife, Lois; two
daughters, Mrs. Sharlene Huto and
Mrs. Francis (Linda) Oakes, both
of Massena; four sons, Wayne and
Bernard, both of Massena, Leonard
of Still Water, N.Y., and Raymond
of Clifton Park, N.Y.; 21
grandchildren and six great grandchildren;
three sisters, Mrs.
Blanche Petti and Mrs. Francis
(Venitta) Jarvis, both of Massena,
Mrs. Evelyn Requa, Brockport,
N.Y.; one brother, Harold (Bill)
Ashley, Massena; several nieces
and nephews.
He was born in Massena on
March 12,1916, son of C. Henry and
Estell Longomore Ashley. He was
educated in Massena schools. On
July 6,1940, he was married to Lois
Lawrence in Sacred Heart Rectory
with Rev. J. Kellogg officiating.
He was employed as a truck driver
and crane operator at Alcoa for 30
years, retiringin 1969.
Mr, Ashley was a member of the
25-Year Club at Alcoa and a communicant
of Sacred Heart Church.
Memorial donations may be
made in his memory to Massena Volunteer
Rescue Squad.
