Mrs. Gladys C. Sherr Ashby, forty-five, wife of Albert S. Ashby, Conestoga R1, died Sunday at 9:30 p.m. in the General Hospital after an illness of six months. Born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late George and Edith Johnson Sherr, she resided in Lancaster before moving to the Conestoga area nine years ago. She was a member of the Conestoga Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service and the Mission Board of the church. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Betty Jane, at home; and four sisters, Pauline, wife of Harry Murr; and Viola, wife of Henry Geist, both of Lancaster; Dorothy, wife of Noah Hurst, Neffsville; and Ethel, wife of Clarence Hanselman, Camden, NJ.
