Mrs. Myrtle Dickson
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Dickson were held at Farris Memorial Chapel Friday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Ronald Burt of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Robert Meliza was organist and accompanied the soloist, Bill Craig, who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "We Are Going Down the Valley". Casket bearers were; John Cooke, Herman Mace, Earl Pretzer, Fred Hunt, Lester Roberts and Gerald Boyce. Burial was in Garnett Cemetery.
Myrtle Jennie Dickson was born Sept. 22, 1885 in Anderson County, Kansas, the daughter of William and Samantha Leper Ashburn. She passed away Aug. 23, 1967, at the Anderson County Hospital. Mrs. Dickson lived in Anderson county all her life. She was united in marriage to George Mac Dickson, who preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1956. To this union two children were born; Orin David Dickson and Eva Cline. She was a good Christian woman, friendly, and a good neighbor, and she was a kind and living mother. Those who survive her passing are; her son, Orin David Dickson of the home in Garnett; her daughter, Mrs. Eva Cline, Garnett; her son-in-law, Fred Cline, three grandchildren, Jennie, Junior and Georgia Ann Cline; one brother, Erve Ashburn, GArnett, and one sister, Mary Lee of Tulsa, Okla.
