Charles Ashford, 84 passed away on Monday, August 31, 2015. He was born in San Antonio, TX, on November 1, 1930 and raised in Houston, TX. graduating from Lamar High School in 1948 and SMU in 1954 with a degree in Engineering. He married the love of his life, Marion Tynes in 1951, who precedes him in death. Charles was actively involved in the United States Power Squadron, the Houston Yacht Club, a member of Seacap, a member of St. John's Episcopal Church La Porte, TX, and was an Admiral in the Texas Navy.
Charles is survived by his son Corky and wife Elaine, daughter Terri Clawson and husband Mike, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and special friend Jinx Manning.
A Family Visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:45 pm, with a Graveside Service to follow at 1:00 pm on September 5, 2015 at Sparkman/Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX. A Memorial Service will be held in La Porte, TX. at St. John's Episcopal Church on Saturday September 19, 2015 at 11:00 am, with a reception following in the parish hall.
