Eloise B. Asbury, 88, of Oklahoma City, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at OU Medical Center, after a brief illness. Eloise was born November 15, 1920 in Pryorsburg, Kentucky to Robert and Beatrice Bradley, who preceded her in death. Married to Harold D. Asbury since 1945, Eloise was a proud Army wife and devoted mother. After her husband retired, they moved to Lake Eufaula where she loved to fish daily and enjoyed having the children and grandchildren come to visit during the summers and fish and enjoy the lake with her. They returned to Oklahoma City in 2002 to be close to their daughter and to medical facilities. Eloise was very active in her church and only slowed her involvement in later years when her eyesight wouldn't allow for more. Eloise is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold, and their two children, Teresa Asbury of Oklahoma City and George Asbury of Woodland Park, Colorado six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Eloise will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial donations may be to the Oklahoma City League for the Blind. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 27 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
