Bobby Gene Arrington, 34, transmission repairman, died yesterday at Yalobusha County General Hospital at Water Valley. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Coffeeville First Baptist Church with burial in Coffeeville Cemetery. Antony Funeral Home of Bruce has charge. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Lynn Arrington; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Arrington of Bruce; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Henderson of Greenwood and Mrs. Martha Patterson of Red Oak, Iowa, and two brothers, Larry Arrington of Houston and Ralph Arrington of Bruce.
BIO: Born February 22, 1937, at Coffeeville, he attended schools there until his family moved to Bruce, Mississippi. He graduated from Bruce High School in 1955. After school, he volunteered for the Navy and served in it until 1959. After his discharge he worked with the Mississippi Forestry Service in Jackson, Mississippi, until 1962. Then he was with E. L. Bruce Company, a timber concern in Bruce until he went to work for Columbia Gulf Transmission Company.
The same year that he became a permanent employee of Columbia, he married Mary Lynn Pyron of Grenada, Mississippi.
Bobby became ill on February 14 and died February 16 after complications resulting from surgery. Services and burial were in Coffeeville, Mississippi.
