ALTOONA - Funeral services for Virginia H. "Ginny" Arnold, 83, of Valley View Nursing Home, Altoona, and formerly of Tyrone and Osceola Mills will be held Monday, April 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills, with Pastor Larry Burd officiating.
She died Tuesday, April 24, at 11:30 p.m. at th nursing home.
Interment will be at Bald Eagle Cemetery, Tyrone RD.
Friends will be received Sunday, April 29, for 5-8 p.m. and Monday, April 30, form 10 a.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 15, 1928, at Tyrone, she was a daughter of Melvin and Virginia (Getz) Harper.
She was a graduate of Tyrone High School, Class of 1947.
She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Osceola Mills.
Mrs. Arnold was a homemaker.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, shopping with her daughters and sister, and music.
On Jan. 10, 1948, at Osceola Mills, she wed J. Eugene Arnold.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Burd and her husband, Pastor Larry, of Bethlehem and Peggy Conrad and her husband, Leslie, of Bald Eagle; five grandchildren, Nathan Burd, Amy Robbins, Evan Burd, Lisa Rader and Melanie McKinney; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, LeRoy Harper of State College.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died March 3, 2008, a sister, Norma Pearl Harper; and four brothers, Robert D. Harper, Norman M. Harper, Melvin Clair Harper and an infant brother.
