BETTENDORF — Karen J. Arnold, 66, of Bettendorf, died on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Burial in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Karen Jeanne Smith was born on January 29, 1945, in Moline, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Mann) Smith. After graduating from Davenport West High School, she married Richard L. "Dick" Arnold on December 21, 1963, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They settled in Bettendorf in 1968.
Mrs. Arnold worked for many years as a secretary and administrative assistant at Mast Engineering, Newport and Buzzell law offices, and also The Maids. Her greatest joy was as a wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; her two sons, Bryan (Betsy) Arnold of Dexter, Mich., and Jeff Arnold; four grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, Fern and Owen; and her loving cat, Lizzie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dick.
