Mrs. Avie Arnold Dies at Brandon
Feb 19, 1958

Mrs. Avie Arnold, 73 of Brandon, died at 2:45 P. M. at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Eula Brown. Mrs. Arnold was born at Brandon. She married Holly Arnold 54 years ago in Whitney. He preceded her in death in August of 1954. She had made her home with her daughter since the time of his death. She had been a member of the Whitney Methodist Church for 25 years. Funeral services will be conducted from that Church at 2:00 P.M. Friday by Rev. Ollie Apple and Rev. F. E. Weller. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Emma Thompson of Hillsboro; four sons, Homer Arnold of Fort Worth, Garland Arnold of Whitney, L. Q. Arnold of Baytown, Billy Arnold of Delores Colorado; two daughters. Mrs Brown of Brandon, Mrs. Juanita Arnold of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One son Louie Arnold died in November of 1954.

(Avie Dora Moss was born to Thomas Moss and Permelia J. "Millie" Lowrey. Thomas and Permelia were married September 15, 1872 in Smith County, Texas. She had one brother, Elmer Lee Moss, and two sisters Mary Jane Moss Hulme and Emma Lucretia Moss Thompson. Some of the Moss family spells their name Morse which is probably the original spelling.)
