Beatrice Robinson Armstead, "BeBe," traded her cares for a crown on Tuesday, August 30, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Clara Robinson; brother, William Robinson Sr.; son, Jerome Armstead Sr.; two grandsons, Jerome Armstead Jr. and Donald Staples Jr.

She leaves to cherish their memory a loving and devoted husband of 60 years Joseph Armstead Sr.; two sons, Joseph Jr. (Brenda) and Jonathan Sr. (Jewel); three daughters, Janet Judith Staples (Donald), Juliette Canada (Horace) and Jacquelyne Armstead; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; godchild, Sharon Stevens; honorary child, James Crosby; one brother, Frederick Robinson Sr.; two sisters, Frances Kittrell and Jean Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her remains were viewed at Chiles Funeral Home, 2100 Fairmount Avenue, on Sunday and Monday from 11am until 6pm. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, at 12 noon, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 3200 E. Broad Street. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Remains rested in church one hour prior to service.
