Raymond David Arms Memorial services for Mr. Raymond David Arms, 76, of Georgetown, Georgia were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Eufaula. Dr. Ken Bush officiated with Chapman Funeral Home directing. Mr. Arms died Sunday, Nov. 24, in Georgetown, Georgia. Born Sept. 12, 1937 in Bensenville, Illinois, Ray was the son of the late William Raymond and Catherine Brettschneider Arms. Ray was in the United States Air Force during Viet Nam, being stationed in Japan and Thailand supporting secret satellite tracking stations. Afterward, he attended the University of Illinois, earning a degree in electrical engineering. Ray moved to Florida to work for aerospace companies. Ray then started an electrical contracting company in Melbourne, Florida. Ray moved to Eufaula and returned to electrical engineering for commercial buildings. He later moved into forensic engineering, inspecting structural and electrical failures and he would testify in court as an expert witness. Ray spent much time flying to different cities around the country. Ray also owned and operated Area Electric Supply in Eufaula for many years. He enjoyed cooking, parties, boating and spending time with his large family. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Arms. Ray is survived by his wife Mary Sue "Sudie" Arms of Georgetown, Ga.; his children, David (Kristine) Arms of Jujunga, Calif., Danny (Karen) Arms of Jacksonville, Fla., Dohn (DeShawn) Arms of Brookfield, Ill., Dean (Christina) Arms of Moorehead City, N.C., Anna Mari (Wesley) Champion of Cumming, Ga., Jason Harris of Georgetown, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Morgan and Katelyn Champion, Layla Harris, Sydney and Samantha Arms, Alexander and Alisha Arms; brothers and sisters, Naomi Fischer of Itasca, Ill., Tiana (Jeffery) Heal of Washington Island, Wis., Joan (Richard) Ruchti of Genoa, Ill., Roger (Sandy) Arms of Algonquin, Ill., Karen Graft of Bensenville, Ill., Steve (Donna) Arms of St. Charles, Ill., Leta (Ken) Lawhorn of Lutz, Fla.
