Elodia Guadalupe Archuleta - Pueblo Chieftain - September 28, 2003 - Elodia Guadalupe Archuleta, 85, a lifetime Walsenburg resident, born July 11, 1918, departed this life Sept. 26, 2003, at Parkview Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Archuleta had owned and operated the Starlite Inn in Walsenburg for over 50 years before retiring and turning the business over to her son "Paco." She graduated from Huerfano High School, was secretary for 21 years for the VFW Auxiliary, member of AARP, and she was a volunteer at Huerfano Medical Center Auxiliary for several years. Preceded in death by parents, Urbano and Margarita Patrica Flores Alvillar; and step-dad who raised her, Leandro Lara; husband Benjamin Archuleta; sisters, Olga Cabarl, Fabiola and Emelia Alvillar; brothers, George and Leandro Lara. Mrs. Archuleta leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Consuelo (Don) Sedillo Sr., Pueblo; Lee (Connie) Archuleta, Pueblo; Margaret (Joe) Garcia, Longmont; Benjamin "Paco" (Lori Martinez) Archuleta, Walsenburg; Arturo "TuTu" (Debbie) Lara, Ringgold, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Both services, St. Mary Catholic Church, Walsenburg. Vigil service, 7 p.m. Tuesday, and funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Richard L. Wehrmeyer, C.M. Celebrant. Interment, North St. Mary Cemetery.
