A. Geraldine Arbogast, 90, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Mount Pleasant Mills, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.

She was born Sept. 26, 1920, in rural Richfield, a daughter of the late Samuel S. and Grace (Shirk) Leitzel. On Nov. 7, 1942, she married G. Edgar "Ed" Arbogast, who preceded her on Nov.19, 2001.The couple celebrated 59 years of marriage.

She was educated at the Heister Valley grammar school and graduated from Freeburg High School in 1940.

Mrs. Arbogast was employed as a seamstress for the Richfield Shirt factory and retired from Leonards Garment factory, Mount Pleasant Mills.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills.

Geraldine cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, cooking and reading.

She is survived by two children, Donna L. Longacre and husband Robert L., of Port Trevorton, and Larry E. "Bud" Arbogast and wife Patricia L., of Selinsgrove; three grandsons, Jonathan M. Arbogast, Robert L. Longacre II and wife Jennylynn and Eric A. Longacre and wife Carol; a great-granddaughter, Sarah K. Bainbridge and husband Larry; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Quinton Swank and Nicole Swank; three sisters-in-law, Miriam Leitzel, Ida Leitzel and Mildred Leitzel; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Arbogast was the last of her immediate family, being preceded by five brothers, Glen E. Leitzel, in childhood, C. Shirk Leitzel and his wife, Sylvia, S. Ernest Leitzel, Robert A. Leitzel and H. Noble Leitzel; and four sisters, Ethel P. Earnest and husband Russell M., Kathryn Amey and husband Steril, Agnes Mae Fisher and husband Norman and Olive E. Hornberger and husband Merrill.

Friends will be received for the viewing from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the service of Christian burial following at 2 with the Rev. Andrew C. Weaver officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
