Clyde Elwood Appling, 84, of Lebanon, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. He was born Feb. 28, 1922, at Topeka, Kan., to Otto B. Appling and Laura Jones Appling. On Nov. 2, 1945, he married Freeda Kimble, who preceded him in death in 2004. He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn Appling, and a sister, Juanita Franklin. He retired from Mid America Dairymen in 1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Noftsinger and her husband, Tom, of St. Louis; two granddaughters, Melissa and Sara, also other relatives.
Services for Clyde Elwood Appling were held July 12, 2006, at Colonial Chapel in Lebanon with the Rev. Richard Ogden officiating. Burial in Mount Rose Memorial Park, with military honors by V.F.W. Post No. 4107, under the direction of Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service. at Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
