Catherine L. Apperson Cowan, 97, of Waynetown, died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, in her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Benton County on April 7, 1914 to the late Roney and Ocea Apperson. She married Byron Cowan on Dec. 31, 1933 in Crawfordsville. He died in September 2001. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rachel Prosser and Esther Welch.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Myers (husband: Richard) of Waynetown; two sons, Donald Cowan (wife: Jean) of Waynetown and Steven Cowan (wife: Martha) of Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
