" Walter Apperson Of Arcola Dead Had Been Invalid for More Than Year.
Arcola, Dec 15.—Walter Apperson, a lifelong resident of Douglas county, died at the home of his daughter, Estella Apperson, early Tuesday morning after an illness of more than a year, the entire time confined to his bed, a helpless invalid, and unable to recognize even his nearest relatives.

Mr. Apperson had been in failing health for two or three years. Early last December he became so much worse that he was taken to Jarman hospital in Tuscola where he remained for nearly five months. Last May he was brought to the home of his daughter in Arcola, where he stayed till death came.

IN REAL ESTATE BUSINESS.

He was born on a farm near Bourbon, July 27, 1859, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Apperson. He remained there till in December, 1883, when he married Miss Dora Beggs of Arcola, and came here to make his home. He engaged in the real estate business and made that his life work, except a short time when he was in the government service in a northern state. He returned to Arcola and made his home here, although for the last several years he was here very little. Mrs. Apperson died in October, 1923, and was also a helpless invalid for years.

Three children were born to them and all survive him. They are Miss Estella Apperson of Arcola, James B. Apperson of Shrevesport, La., and Edgar Apperson of Phoenix, Ariz. He also leaves two sisters, Miss Sarah Apperson and Mrs. Jessie A. Stafford, both of Phoenix.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at his daughter's home, conducted by Rev. Mr. Marlin, the Baptist minister of Tuscola. Interment will be in the Bourbon cemetery."
