Andres S. Apodaca married Sofia Telles on March 14, 1949, in Las Cruces and then moved to Hot Springs (now Truth or Consequences), NM. In 1955 they moved to Central (Santa Clara), NM where Mr. Apodaca worked for the Kennecott Copper Corp. (Chino Mine) until 1976, while Mrs. Apodaca enjoyed life as a homemaker. In 1976, the Apodacas moved to Truth or Consequences.

Obituary:

Andres S. Apodaca, 80, a resident of Truth or Consequences, passed away Tuesday at Sierra Vista Hospital in Truth or Consequences. He was born April 9, 1914 to Jose and Magdalena (Sanchez) Apodaca in Elephant Butte. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and a prisoner of war during World War II. He was a tank driver in Northern France and the Rhineland in Central Europe. Mr. Apodaca received the World War II Victory Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal. He married Sofia Telles on March 14, 1949 in Las Cruces. He retired from Chino Mines in 1976 after 21 years of service. Mr. Apodaca was a parshioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Health Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Sofia, three sons, Nate Apodaca and his wife, Melva, of Las Vegas, Nev., Andy T. Apodaca and his wife, Lisa, of Truth or Consequences, and Joe F. Apodaca and his wife, Virginia, of Central; 12 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren.
