Alma Victoria Anthony, 72, of 2435 Lincoln St., died late Wednesday evening at Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. She had been hospitalized three weeks.
Mrs. Anthony was born Jan. 3, 1893, in Franklin County, and came to Anderson 50 years ago. She and her husband, Alden E. Anthony Sr., celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on July 31 last month.
She was a member of the First Nazarene Church.
Survivors include the husband, Alden; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen A. Fisher, Mrs. Norma A. Vasbinder, and Mrs. Evelyn L. Finney, all of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Lessie Strothman of Richmond, and Mrs. Martha Eldon of Anderson; three brothers, Harvey Lackey of Warren, Ohio, William Lackey of Hamilton, Ohio, and Walter Lackey of College Corner, Ohio; 22 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Roberta Haney of Anderson, was reared by the Anthony family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today at Baker Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. John Wine officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
