SUMMERFIELD, LA - Funeral services will be held for Danny (Big D) Anglin, 52, at the First United Methodist Church in Homer on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John McClelland officiating. Interment will follow at Summerfield cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. ***As per Danny's wishes, they are requesting casual dress, no neckties!
Mr. Anglin was born February 24, 1955 to S.B. Anglin and Eddith Triplet Anglin. He entered into rest April 6, 2007 in Shreveport following a brief illness. Mr. Anglin was a 1973 graduate of Homer High School. He was employed with Hinton Well Servicing, Inc. for 34 years, starting as a floor hand to rig operator and later as tool pusher. His church affiliation was the First Pentecostal Church and the First Presbyterian Church, both in Homer.
Mr. Anglin was preceded in death by his father, S.B. Anglin; sister-in-law, Barbara Anglin; granddaughter, Nevaeh Gayle Cortez-Anglin; and his grandparents, Thomas (Tom) and Addie Anglin and Lee Oliver and Carrie Triplet.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Tabor Anglin; sons, James B. Anglin and wife, Eunice, Steven D. Anglin and wife, Kelly; step-son, Robert Michael Herring. Jr.; daughter, Heather Anglin Smith and husband, Samuel, all of Summerfield; his mother, Eddith Triplet Anglin of Homer; brother, B.L. Anglin and wife, Venita of Homer; sister, Melba A. Johnson of Franklinton, LA; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tabitha, Austin and Brendan Herring, Johnathan Lindsey, Caitlin & Jesse Anglin and Alexia Danielle Smith; sister and brother-in-laws, Susan and Bill Herring, Ricky and Kaye Tabor and Cindy and Phil Phillips; nieces and nephews, Wanda and Frank Piper, David and Gretchen Anglin, Kayla Johnson Allen and Sondra Johnson., Kim and Kimble Hays, Denise and Curtis Sherrill, Jamey and Wendy Herring, Charlie and Heather Tabor, Jake Tabor and fiancÚ, Maria Wynne and Tracey and Brad Hay; Nevaeh's mother, Jessica Cortez.
