Christine Moffitt Angell
She was born in McDowell County to the late George M. Moffitt and Clara Elmore Moffitt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Angell; and six sisters and four brothers. Surviving Mrs. Angell are three life-long and devoted friends, Edith Griggs, Viola Souder and Willard Burgin, all of Old Fort; 18 nieces; eight nephews; and sister-in-law, Shirley Moffitt of Lake Lure. Mrs. Angell was the last surviving member of her family's greatest generation. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 9, 2007 at Mount Hebron Wesleyan Church with Rev. C.W. Anthony officiating. Interment will follow at Cherry Springs Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Hebron Wesleyan Church, 2504 Mount Hebron Road, Old Fort, N.C. 28762.
