Ruby Andrews McWhorter, 91, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Clay County Medical Center in West Point. Services were held Thursday, June 7, 2001 at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with the Rev. Inge Halbert and Bro. Scott Cappleman officiating. Burial followed in Palestine Cemetery in Montpelier.

Mrs. McWhorter was a native of Clay County and the daughter of the late John David and Addie Mae Blankenship Andrews. She married Elliott P McWhorter who predeceased her on March 1, 1976. She was a retired seamstress with Knickerbocker, Mfg., and a member of Siloam United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Margaret A Rose of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Martha A Montgomery of Saltillo and Katie A Blankenship of West Point; one brother, Charles Andrew of Houston; a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jerald Andrews, Gene Andrews, Lyman Montgomery, Edward Montgomery, David Andrews and Mike Andrews. Honorary pallbearers were friends at Siloam United Methodist Church.
