George E. Andrews Sr. of Lynchburg departed this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Avante Rehabilitation. George was born on Feb. 22, 1937, to the late Ernest and Edna Andrews Sr. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wardell and Lenoard.
George is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his children, Rhonda McCoy, of Virginia Beach and George (Dayle) Andrews Jr., of Evington; eight grand-children; three great grand-children; two sisters, Belva McNeal and Edna Arlene Royal; three brother-in-laws, John (Everette), Lloyd (Betty), of Rustburg and Donald (Theresa), of Lynchburg; two sister-in-laws, Kearn (John), of Gladys and Iris, of Lynchburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Duke University Hospital, Avante and Generation Solutions.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Community Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Clarkstown Cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the residence, 3946 Peace St. The cortege will assemble at the funeral home. Condolences may be emailed to [email protected]
