Darryl Andre was born May 6, 1950 in Baton Rouge, LA and passed away peacefully on May 30, 2012 at The Carpenter House. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1968 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Vietnam from 1968-1972. He was never one to meet a stranger and was known for this wit and charm. He loved spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and helping others in need. He is survived in death by his son Michael and wife, Naomi; sister, Mary Andre Ashford and husband, Jim; grandchildren Alana and Vance Andre. Preceded in death by his parents, Philojean and Gertie Andre; brothers, Benny, Donnie, and Michael Andre. Special thanks to The Carpenter House especially Trygve Olson and Keith Horcasitas; Tommy and Debbie Olson, Danny and Dixie Andrews and other family,friends and close neighbors for all their love and caring support. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and will resume on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 12:00pm until memorial service time at 2:00 pm.
