Bonnie M. (Starman) Johnson, 69 of Alda died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at CHI-Health St. Francis.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Johnson was born January 25, 1946 at Neligh, NE the daughter of Leo and Cleta (Legate) Latzel.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Lonnie; children and their spouses, Debra Brokenrope of Aurora, Ronald and Deena Starman of Grand Island, Angela and Doug Woodward of Grand Island, Roger and Tonya Starman of Grand Island, Randy Starman of Doniphan and Julie Kleint and her friend, Barry McGooden of Grand Island; sisters, Barbara and Don Burwell of Kearney and Irene and Jim Kouma of Lincoln; brother, Allen Latzel of Lincoln and half-sister, Theresa Hauser of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Godfrey Brokenrope and half-brother, Steven Hauser.
Bonnie was raised and received her education in Lincoln before moving to Elgin where she graduated from high school in 1964.
She was united in marriage to Ralph Starman in 1964 and later married Lonnie Johnson on July 10, 2004.
Bonnie worked for UPS and later drove truck with Lonnie for Jim Palmer Trucking. She currently was employed at Sleep Inn.
She is a member of the Saddle Club and some of her enjoyments included, flower gardening, crocheting, genealogy, playing Keno and her grandkids activities. She loved her sleep over parties with her grandkids. Bonnie’s greatest love was her family.
