Ruth A. Anderson, 95, of Xenia, IL, died Feb. 6, 2006, at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Mrs. Anderson was born August 31, 1910 in Flora, the daughter of William and Lucy Baldwin Stanford. She married Byron Anderson in Charleston and He preceded her in death May 11, 1978.

She was employed at Four Sisters for over 30 years, and also Flora International Shoe Company and Holland Truck Stop. She was a member of Xenia Christian Church.

She was instrumental in beginning 4-H in Clay County, enjoyed quilting and was a member of Xenia Quilting Group, and was a volunteer at the Flora Drivers Lincense Facility.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Joan Little and Nancy J. Allen; a son, Gary D. Anderson; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son, Billy Curt, three brothers, William, George, and Ray, and two sisters, Alice and Mary.

Funeral services were held at Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora with burial in Onstott Cemetery near Xenia.
