George Anderson passed away on Aug. 8, 2008, at his home in White City, Ore.
George was born Jan. 15, 1920, to Gilbert and Alivina Anderson, of Michigan, N.D. He was raised by Alfred and Kari Anderson of North Dakota.
George served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. in 1937 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as Second Class Gunner's Mate. He moved to the Medford area, in 1946. He married Iris (Betty) Davis of Medford, on Sept. 4, 1947. George and Betty remained in the Medford area where George spent his years as a log truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and raising sheep and cows at his White City home. George was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Central Point, Ore.
George is survived by two daughters, Ruth O'Connor of Prospect, Ore., and Carol Grigsby of Milwaukie, Ore.; four grandchildren, Matthew and Kevin O'Connor, Jason and Tamara Grigsby; four greatgrandchildren, Marissa, Bailey and Jake O'Connor and Katherine Grigsby.
A service will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore., on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at 2 p.m.
